Overview

The factory turbo inlet on the EA888 Gen3 platform is a restrictive soft rubber unit — adequate at stock boost levels but a real limitation as pressure and airflow demand increase. This aluminium turbo inlet replaces the OEM piece with a smoother, more rigid alternative, reducing restriction before the IS38 or IS20 compressor wheel.

Engineering Focus

CNC machined from 6061 aluminium with a smooth bore ID — matched to the IS38 and IS20 inlet diameter. The rigid construction eliminates the flex and collapse under vacuum that affects factory rubber inlets under sustained boost.

Note: this turbo inlet fits the shared MQB AWD 2.0T platform across Golf GTI/R MK7 and A3/S3/TT/TTS 8V — same engine bay, same fit. It does not fit MK8 Golf/GTI/R or Audi 8Y platform vehicles, which use a different generation inlet.
