The MK8 GTI's factory downpipe includes an OPF that introduces significant restriction in the EA888 Gen4 exhaust path. This high-flow catted downpipe replaces the OPF with a less restrictive catalyst, improving exhaust flow and turbo response while retaining catalytic function.
SS304 stainless steel with high-flow catalyst replacing the OPF. Designed for road use where a catless unit is not appropriate.
The MK8's factory OPF is a noise- and emissions-compliance part first, an exhaust component second. This kit removes that restriction while keeping a real catalyst in place, so the car stays road-legal and gains the turbo response and tone the EA888 Gen4 has been holding back the whole time.

Note: downpipe fitment follows engine output/turbo specification rather than chassis alone — GTI and A3 8Y share the same EA888 Gen4 tune and downpipe flange. This kit does not fit Golf R or Audi S3 8Y, which use a different downpipe specification (see our separate Golf R/S3 kit), nor MK7 Golf or Audi 8V platform vehicles.
