The N54's factory intercooler is a consistent weak point as power climbs. Heat soak arrives quickly and limits how consistently the car performs on repeated pulls, in warm conditions, or on tuned maps. This intercooler provides improved cooling capacity to keep intake temperatures more stable during hard driving.
Aluminium core construction provides improved heat exchange capacity over the factory intercooler. Compatible across the N54 platform from the 135i through to the 335i E-series chassis.
The N54 has been a tuning platform for long enough that its factory intercooler's heat soak ceiling is well documented — it's not a question of if, but when, on any car driven hard more than once in a row. A larger core buys back that margin precisely where it matters most.
