This dry carbon fibre intake system is designed specifically for the G8X S58 Competition. Dry carbon construction is lighter than standard pre-preg and provides excellent heat resistance — drawing from a cooler intake source and routing air directly to the twin-turbo S58 compressors.
Dry carbon fibre offers a stiffer, lighter construction than wet-lay carbon. The intake routes fresh, cooler air to the S58 compressor inlets while managing thermal exposure from the engine bay heat sources.
Dry carbon costs more to produce than standard wet-lay carbon for a reason — it's stiffer, lighter, and handles sustained heat without the resin breakdown that eventually dulls a cheaper finish. On an S58 making real heat under the bonnet, that durability matters as much as the cooler intake air it's routing.
